1. The club is fully committed to ensuring that cricket is an inclusive, welcoming and equitable sport for all. We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to participate, enjoy and progress in cricket regardless of their background, identity or personal circumstances.
2. The club will actively promote equality, celebrate diversity and take positive steps to remove barriers so that all members can thrive.
3. The club will:
a. Treat all individuals fairly, with dignity and respect
b. Provide opportunities based on ability, potential and enthusiasm, not personal characteristics
c. Challenge discrimination, harassment or victimisation in any form
d. Create an environment where everyone feels safe, valued and able to contribute
e. Make reasonable adjustments to support inclusion and accessibility
f. Promote a culture where equity is understood as giving people what they need to participate fully
4. This policy applies to:
a. Players.
b. Coaches and volunteers.
c. Parents, carers and spectators.
d. Committee members and officials.
e. Visitors and contractors.
5. It covers all club activities, including training, matches, social events and digital communication.
6. In line with the Equality Act 2010, the club will not tolerate discrimination based on:
a. Age.
b. Disability.
c. Gender reassignment.*1
d. Marriage or civil partnership.
e. Pregnancy or maternity.
f. Race, ethnicity or nationality.
g. Religion or belief.
h. Sex.
i. Sexual orientation.
7. We also recognise that individuals may face additional barriers linked to socio-economic background, language, culture or personal circumstances, and we will work to address these fairly.
*1 2025 Legal Interpretation: A Supreme Court ruling established that for certain legal contexts, "sex" in the Equality Act 2010 refers to biological sex, though this does not diminish the protection against discrimination based on the protected characteristic of gender reassignment.
8. The club will:
a. Ensure selection processes are transparent, fair and based on cricketing criteria.
b. Provide inclusive coaching that supports different learning needs and abilities.
c. Offer opportunities for all members to participate at a level appropriate to their development.
d. Ensure facilities, equipment and communication are as accessible as reasonably possible.
e. Encourage diverse representation in leadership and decision-making roles.
f. Provide training for coaches and volunteers to understand equality, equity and inclusion.
9. Club Committee. The Club Management Committee will:
a. Lead by example and ensure this policy is implemented.
b. Review club practices to identify and remove barriers.
c. Respond promptly to concerns or complaints.
10. Coaches and Volunteers. Club officials are required to:
a. Promote inclusive behaviours and challenge inappropriate conduct. b. Adapt coaching approaches to meet individual needs.
11. Members, Parents and Spectators. Everyone associated with the club should:
a. Treat others with respect.
b. Support the club’s commitment to equality and equity.

13. Any concerns relating to discrimination, exclusion or unfair treatment should be reported to the Club Safeguarding Officer or a committee member. All concerns will be taken seriously, handled sensitively and addressed in line with club procedures.
14. The club will review this policy annually or sooner if legislation or ECB guidance changes. Feedback from members will be welcomed to help improve our approach to equality and equity.
15. By embracing equality and equity, the club aims to create a cricketing environment where:

b. Everyone has the chance to participate and succeed
c. Everyone is respected for who they are
