Fair Use of the Witchell Pavilion

1. Introduction. A key tenet of the spirit of the game of cricket is RESPECT for others.  All users of the Witchell Pavilion have a duty to ensure that they leave it in a better state  than they found it, out of respect for the next user. The Witchell Pavilion is a great facility  and all users should want to ensure that it remains so. This is achieved by respecting the  fabric of the building, its contents and by leaving it in a clean and tidy state.

2. Last Person Out Checklist. To ensure that the pavilion is in a reasonable state for  the next user, the last person out is to ensure that:

a. The main area is clean and tidy. Tables are to be returned to their original  position and all rubbish cleared and put in the refuse bins outside.
b. The bar area is clean and tidy. Glasses are to be washed-up, dried and put  away (ie not simply left on the draining board). Wipe the bar and tables.
c. The toilets are clean and tidy.
d. All the radiators are switched-off.
e. The windows are secured and window blinds are closed.
f. The area immediately outside the pavilion is clean and tidy. Any glasses,  furniture or other equipment is to be brought back into the pavilion, glasses cleaned  and put away, with equipment stored in the changing rooms.
g. All lights are switched off.
h. All doors are closed and secured correctly.

TAKE RESPONSIBILITY AND DO IT YOURSELF

3. Dual Use of the Witchell Pavilion.

a. There may be times when the Witchell Pavilion is utilised for a non-cricket  related activity for the financial benefit of WCC (eg Bridge Club) when the facility also needs to be used by cricketers. The protocol below sets out the responsibilities of  cricketers and other non-cricketing users to ensure that both parties are able to use  the Witchell Pavilion in a manner that is respectful to each other.

b. Use of the pavilion will be as per the diagram below (dotted line is illustrative):

c. During play for junior games, cricketers (ie anyone under the age of 18) will use the double-doors next to the cricket pitch

(1) so that the coaches can maintain  visibility of them but will close and lock the double-doors hem after use. Setting-up  and packing away equipment for junior games should be done via the rear entrance

(2). Adult games will use the rear entrance.

d. Cricketers

(1) All cricketers are to keep noise to a minimum when transiting through the  pavilion when it is being used by others.

(2) Use of the bar facilities will be at the discretion of the non-cricketing user.  The team captain, coach or parent (as appropriate) should liaise with the non cricketing user to establish conditions for using the bar so as to avoid  unnecessary disturbance to them.

(3) Only use the plastic chairs and trestle tables stored in the changing rooms  (ie leave the square tables and upholstered chairs for the non-cricketing user).
