1. WCC is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of all its Senior and Junior Members. WCC believes that it is important that all Members associated with the club should, at all times, be encouraged to be open and show respect. Members should feel able to share any concerns or complaints that they may have about any aspect of the club with the Club Chair, The Club Captain or The Juniors Manager.
2. As a member of WCC you are expected to abide by the following guidelines:
a. Respect and maintain the integrity, laws and spirit of the game of cricket at all
b. Uphold the values of the club, as identified in its Charter and in accordance with its aspirations.
c. Conduct yourself, both on and off the field, in a manner which enhances the reputation of the club and supports the team captain.
d. Play within the rules and respect opponents as well as officials and their
decisions.
e. Act safely and responsibly at all times whilst representing the club.
f. Show care and consideration for other users of the grounds and facilities.
g. Pay any subscriptions or fees promptly.
h. Show commitment to training and competitions and inform their coach or team manager of availabilities promptly.
i. Wear suitable attire for training and match sessions, as agreed with the club.
j. All players shall assist, when asked, in preparation of the match (including teas as required).
k. Show commitment and contribute to the broader development of the club by supporting club initiatives such as Fundraising and Social Events.
l. Show commitment and contribute to all preparation and installation of the
cricket facilities and equipment throughout the season.
m. Report all accidents, safety-related concerns, however minor, to the
Safeguarding Officer.
n. Keep the grounds and facilities tidy and discard all waste materials
appropriately.
o. Do not operate or interfere with any equipment or apparatus unless authorised to do so by a team captain or manager.
p. Do not smoke in any building facility under the club’s control.
q. The use of cigarettes, tobacco, and vapes will only be permitted in accordance with current UK law.
r. The purchase and consumption of alcohol will only be permitted in accordance with current UK law.
s. Illegal drug use will not be tolerated.
t. Understand and adhere to the conduct and discipline policies of affiliated
organisations.
